Adopting Together is an exciting project finding families for children who wait the longest to be adopted.
St David’s Children Society has always actively placed some of the most vulnerable children with loving and supportive adoptive families. Adopting Together is an extension of this work. It focuses on placing children aged 4 and over, sibling groups, children with additional needs, and children with medical needs or medical uncertainty who have been identified as waiting the longest for a family.
Adopting Together aims to raise awareness of children who are waiting and encourage potential adopters to consider these children when creating their family. It brings together the knowledge, skills and experience of the Voluntary Adoption Agencies (St David's Children Society, Barnardo's, Adoption UK, After Adoption & AFA Cymru) in using their expertise to find and support the right families for these children. These children have had a tough start to their young lives and waiting a long time for a family can create added problems. The structure of the project sets out to ensure the right support is in place for the child and for you as the adoptive parent as you create your family.
Adopting Together is supported by the National Adoption Service for Wales.
